Arise and Go! Review
In the current Critical Flame I review the heck out of SJS and Enda Reilly’s album/EP/whatever, Arise and Go!, which is well worth it if you’re into poetry and Irish music. They have some videos on youtube that give you the gist.
I enjoyed writing the review, even though it confused me a bit. Who really has the authority to go around reviewing things? How do you do it effectively? It’s actually more an essay than a review because I couldn’t really engage with the kind of aesthetic judgements reviews often entail. I just sort of take the work as sincere and go with it, and try to think about the implications, and the context.
But I know what you’re really here for, and that’s for me to link you to a rather odd Kula Shaker performance of 303. Crispian just freaking going for it with the wah there every now and then. Need more Kula? I looked them up expecting them not to hold up to my nostalgic fondness, but they still kinda rock a bit.
Catch the sun,
Mark
